In Appreciation
The weather couldn’t have been
better for Teacher Appreciation Week, and the teachers and staff of JFK send a
big thanks to all those who donated, cooked, baked, decorated, and assisted
with this week’s Teacher Appreciation Brunch. We had lots of goodies to share
and we couldn’t have done it without your support. Some quotes: “Thank you for
lunch today! It was delicious.” And: “Many thanks from all for a wonderful
celebratory brunch. Everything was delicious and much appreciated. Thanks as
well for your tremendous support all year long.”
May MCAS Testing
May 14-15: Grade 8 Science and
Technology
May 12-25: Make-up Testing
The testing will begin promptly
each day at 7:55am. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep, to
have breakfast, and to do his or her very best each day. It is also
particularly important that your student arrive at school on time. Students are
asked to bring a book to read in the event they complete their testing before
the end of the scheduled time. For more info, refer to the letter sent home
from school.

Supporting JFK Teachers through
Teacher Grants
The JFK PTO continues to help
teachers with classroom initiatives using your generous donations. Some of the
latest grants approved include supplies to create zines for an 8th grade ELA
memoir unit, funding to support the JFK Theatre Workshop, and support for
special activities for the ELA afterschool club. If you are interested in
helping with the teacher grant committee, please send an email to jfkmspto@gmail.com.
Volunteers Needed
The PTO will be seeking a new president
next year and more PTO members to help with events. A new secretary to take
minutes and assist with the agenda at our monthly meetings is also needed.
Email us at jfkmspto@gmail.com if you can help.
