JFK School Council Members Needed
The JFK School Council is looking for new members. The Council is an advisory group co-chaired by the Principal and a parent as elected by the council. The council meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 5pm. Please submit a letter of interest to the JFK PTO by emailing jfkmspto@gmail.com or by submitting your letter to the mailbox at school by Monday, September 25. The PTO may hold elections to the council at the School Open House on Thursday, September 28, depending on interest.
This is a great way to learn about what’s going on day-to-day at JFK. Council members provide valuable input to administration and staff. The time commitment is only two hours a month. This an opportunity for parents and guardians to get involved and support their school community. 6th grade parents are especially welcome.
JFK Open House
Parents and Guardians are invited to the JFK Open House on Thursday, September 28 at 6:30pm. Your student will provide you with a schedule, so please make sure to bring it to the event. You’ll start in their homeroom and follow their class schedule. Due to limited space in the building this evening event is for parents and guardians only.

Please consider bringing a donation for Puerto Rico to our Open House
Please consider donating to the JFK drive for Western Mass United for Puerto Rico this week. If every parent who comes to our Thursday Open House would please bring at least 1 item, we could make a very huge impact as a school-wide community. There will be donation boxes in the front lobby.
Supplies needed are: Batteries, flashlights, water purifying tablets, first aid kits, bandages, small tool kits, hygiene products, sewing kits, small fire extinguishers, manual can openers, wrenches to turn off gas lines, battery-operated radios, garbage bags, dish soap, disinfectant, paper cups, plates, napkins, latex gloves and work gloves, baby wipes, sterile eye wash, sun screen, hand sanitizer, antibiotic ointment, adhesive tape and prepackaged tarps. Think about what we can all do together to help the suffering of over 3 million people! All donations will be driven to Nuestra Esperanza this weekend to be packed up.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
NOTE: If you are not coming to Open House, you can send things in with your child as well. There is a box in the Main Office.
