PTO Updates

Meeting Monday April 6 5:30 pm.  Agenda posted on the blog, http://jfkmspto.blogspot.com. We will be discussing 2nd round teacher grants, and end of year celebration activities.

After School updates:

Next event – the Student Teacher Basketball fundraising Event on Friday, May 8that  NHS. They are  looking for 2 parents to coach boys teams and 2 parents to coach girls teams.  I also need 1 parent to coach a co-ed team. They will play 5 games or 2 five minute halves, not usually any practices.  There are 10 students on a team and the coach just has to substitute in and out.  There is a lottery for all games.  Peggy Clapp will get in touch with all coaches and give them contact information, so they can get in touch with players.  They will also need some other volunteers for other duties.  This is a very important fundraiser for our after school program. Please contact Peggy Clapp at pclapp@northampton-k12.us or 413-586-1242

Thank you to everyone who made the antique show and sale a big success! The event raised over $2200 for the After-School Program, making many exciting activities available to all students regardless of their ability to pay.

It took a lot of people to make the event happen; volunteers helped plan the event, set up before and clean up after the event, cook chili and soup, donate baked goods and other items, and work at the entrance and food sales tables, etc., etc. Thank you to all of you! If it weren't for volunteers making events like this happen, we couldn't offer the fantastic after-school program that we do.

We'd also like to thank those who sponsored advertising for the sale: Ostberg & Associates, Dr. Jeffrey Korff, and The Murphys Realtors; without the advertising, the sale would not raise the money it does.

Thank you again to all!

Sincerely,

Scott Andrew, Associate Principal

JFK Middle School is pleased to announce it's school-wide community service event to benefit Foster Dignity, a program of Friends of Children.
